Perfect for a casual post-beach snack. No tables and chairs, just some benches, which lends to the easy-going atmosphere. Tacos were great as were the corn on the cob and the nacho chips were spectacular!

Loved this place. The blue corn tortillas are rolled on premise and in front of you. They are delightful when fried and offered as chips with guacamole. The fillings for the tacos were very tasty and I would be in serious trouble if this was close to home or work. Seating is limited and it's definitely a casual dining environment but that makes it even more fun. Some good craft beers on tap and naturally flavored water made the visits (yes I went back the next day) very pleasant.

REAL food. so good. just a stand, with a small area in front to sit on benches or stand to eat. the chips and guac are totally and utterly amazing. i could eat them every day of my life. tacos are small. but ingredients are fresh and clever and so so good. go here next time you are on the beach.

Great location, open late ish (2am on the weekends) and the food was utterly fantastic. If you were debating coming here, do so. It's that simple.

Awesome hidden gem right in the heart of Sobe on 15th and Collins (west side)! Amazing tacos and sides. The chips and tortillas are completely homemade. Best authentic Mexican restaurant I've found so far! SUPER AFFORDABLE and really cute casual setting. So happy this place is 2 blocks from my apartment.

This place def has some good grub, though a bit pricey. There is also a decent beer selection and the environment in general is relaxed with a cool decor. I've taken friends there and everyone enjoyed the place.

Amazing chips.. Watched the guy make it and fry it up(blue chips). Food is amazing and the service is exceptional. Must try when in Miami.

This was my favorite meal in Miami! It's in a great location to grab and go to the beach. The Totopos with guacamole come highly recommended! Super friendly staff, tasty eats, and a good price.

  • Sara T.

Very small portions, can say even expensive for what you get, nothing special compared to what I 've had before.

  • Xavier B.

Excellent freshly made food. The toropos and tacos al pastor were delicious...definitely the best in town.

  • Michael D.

Incredible net spot for locals and for tourists! A rare place with affordable food at a good value! Places like this are extremely difficult to find in Miami Beach. It's brand new and the hotel even has solar panels on the roof which is another rarity! So if you're ECO friendly this is also a business that cares. MDRealtyMiami.com

You can't go wrong here. The staff is so friendly. It's a pretty healthy place to eat for SoBe (in my eyes) not the beer per se but The Rajas taco is my favorite and the chips and guac. The quinoa is great too. Ok everything is great.

    (5)
  • Jason H.

Awesome authentic tacos. Best chips and guacamole I've ever had! Came here two days in a row while in Miami. Def recommend! Side note: there are no tables or indoor seating. It's more of a take out counter. There is an outdoor bench and counter seating.

i stopped by here for a late lunch one day on a recent vacation to miami. i to-go ordered 2 al pastor tacos and 1 carnitas taco. i paid for 3 tacos and got 2. not sure if that is typical or not but check your to-go container before you leave. the hand pressed corn tortillas were delicious. i was less impressed by the two types of meats because both were entirely too salty. (i mean, i love me some salt....and butter...and all the bad things in the land that will surely send me to an early grave, but the amount of salt in these two taco meats was *gasp* too much for me.) the staff was super friendly, though, which makes me feel less burned by getting stiffed one taco.

  • Amanda L.

The freshest Mexican food I've gotten on this beach ever! The service is always on point and the masa tortillas are something I can't believe I've lived this life so long without. I'm obsessed. Everything on the menu is fantastic and fresh--it cannot be compared to any other nonsense wanna be trendy taco place on this beach. Save room for the Horchata Choco Taco, but don't eat them all please--save one for me!!

  • Saul F.

Hands down the best Mexican food in Dade county. The language tacos are INCREDIBLE!!! The rajas are unbelievably amazing along with the huitlacoche. Great atmosphere and good service.my new favorite spot!

It was the first day. Not bad! We tried a little of everything. The carne seco was very good.

  • Jacob B.

Great place for a quick bite. A few cons are that the beers are around $7 and there really isn't table seating, so standing and eating is your best bet. That adds to the uniqueness too this place, incredible flavor in the food, fresh ingredients, this is a go to place in South Beach.

    (4)
  • Lauren C.

We were down the street for work and looking for a quick bite. Food was ok (their green sauce helped), staff was kind but I'm a bit bummed about our charges. I didn't catch that they charged me $7 for a drink that was clearly $3 on their chalkboard menu. I automatically tipped 15% on their square-up system and I guess I should have asked to review the receipt charges before signing and tipping.... eh yaaaa

  • Rachel W.

Awesome place! We were looking for dinner while in Miami and came across this place when we were walking back to our car and love it! Cute location, great food and the service was great! If you're looking for something quick and great, this is the place to go!

    (5)
  • Flavia B.

This is typical case of inflated reviews due to it's "cool atmosphere" (in a hostel, benches outdoor, nice music etc). From the 7 tacos on the menu they were out of 3 and the other 2 that we tried were super plain. And it's not inexpensive ($7 an appetizer; $10 for 3 small tacos that's what you'll need + the appetizer).

    (2)
  • Lisa N.

The chips and salsa were absolutely amazing. Loved their take on street tacos as well. There's a small area to sit (or stand) and eat, but if you're looking for someplace with tables and chairs you won't find it. Someone picked up a take away order while I was there, so I assume they do take out as well.

    (4)
  • Salmaan T.

Incredibly fresh ingredients (they make the tortillas in front of you), friendly service, and the barbacoa taco is the best I've ever had. Ordered a chicken taco that was delicious as well but that barbacoa is so on point. Kudos to this place for doing it great. Their sauces are great too. Just a fantastic taco joint.

    (5)
  • Debbie R.

Overrated, over priced. All food had no taste. Could have went to a sat down place and paid the same amount and enjoyed the food more.

    (2)
  • Danny D.

This place was awful. I ordered delivery, after convincing my friends to try this place instead of ordering bodega. We ordered 5 tacos and guac. They didn't bring any chips and all the tacos were in 1 box, soggy, cold, and falling apart. We couldn't figure out which was which. When I called to complain they were rude, and they made it seem as if it was my fault for not ordering chips. Who orders guac without chips. And the tacos were salty. Never again. Goodbye.

  • Gavin H.

Really the best tacos I've had in years, anywhere, hands down. We had carnitas and barbacoa. The carnitas had cinnamon happening in there which was really unexpected but somehow perfect. The barbacoa had a bit of coffee and dark beer notes which created such a great depth of flavor. Condiments are super minimal, cilantro, onion, radish and cotija with a couple hot sauces, but with meat that tasty, you don't need anything else. I also love that they use a single tortilla for their tacos, none of this double jive to keep old tortillas from splitting. Beer selection was small, but all excellent. Can't wait to go back!

    (5)
  • Sabrina L.

tacos here are very tasty but pretty small for the price you pay!

    (3)
  • Mike S.

Awesome! I yelped it as I was walking the beach and figured you can't go wrong with a 4star/1$ combo. Tacos were on the money and the deep fried tortillas with guac made me feel like there was the best cinco de mayo party ever going on in my mouth. Best of all, no stomach ache afterwards! Thank you Taquizaaaa!

  • Natalie K.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Delicious tiny street tacos. Boyfriend and I went and thought we only wanted 2 each, but they were so good (and on the small side) that we ordered another one each after finishing the first round. Rajas (smoked poblano pepper with cojita cheese) and the corn "truffle" (fungus) were among the best. Just a little different from the typical meat tacos, but those were delicious also. We had al pastor but would definitely go back to try the Barbacoa and Carnitas. They were out of Lengua when we tried to order seconds, but that's understandable since it was a Sunday evening and probably trying to close up.

  • TJ S.

So good, so simple, so close to the beach! That is all..

  • Amy W.

Family of 4, ate here for dinner one night of spring break. Amazing. Admittedly the kids didn't love it as much as we did but they didn't starve. We don't eat meat and there were plenty of great options for us, which isn't always the case. Great contemporary ambience in this tiny outdoor space. If you just like design and not tacos (though I wouldn't understand that) you should at least swing by and see the place.

    (5)
  • J M.

Wow!!! This place is great! Really casual walk up bar...Try the Al pastro tacos ...the corn is amazing!

  • Roo S.

Got a few tacos here. Lengua AL pastor and some names we can't present. Delish. I'd come back

  • Loreta C.

love this place, even though it's very physically uncomfortable to eat there lol there are no tables and chairs, instead you sit on benches and put your food on little rolling cubes. the food is amazing!!! the service is great. one of my faves in South Beach.

  • Liz C.

This place is muy delicioso! I was visiting Miami and ended up here for lunch. Tacos are freshly made (makes all the difference in the world) and they are thick and tasty. The totopos and guac is possibly the best thing on the menu!! They are incredible and never had them like it anywhere else. They are freshly fried "chunks" of masa and actually a bit soft + hot + perfectly salty. We had: Totopos and Guac Corn Elote Tacos -- Al Pastor, Lengua, Pollo and Barbacoa Totopos and Corn were amazing!! I think we liked the Al Pastor and Barbacoa best out of all the tacos. I'm craving this place!

    (5)
  • Joe S.

House made tortillas and slow cooked meats. Walk-up style with draft & bottle beers. Loved it!

    (5)
  • Rob G.

Excellent Elote. Mexican street corn. Had a variety of tacos. Tasty but not wildly spectacular. Portion are small but sufficient. You add a few "fixin's" from the counter and add your own salsa or hot sauce. Don't look for a table to sit down. This little place is counter served and sit on a bench in the courtyard. Service was very friendly and quick. It's easy to do much worse than this place for Mexican fare in SoBe.

    (3)
  • Veronica M.

Totopos with guacamole. Barbacoa. So so good. Craving some right now. Grabbed some to enjoy on the beach with a margarita.

I love their tacos. I brought my friend and his co workers some tacos from here and everyone loved them.

  • Maria S.

SO DELICIOUS & AUTHENTIC. I visited Taquiza for the first time after having heard rave reviews about their menu, tacos and taco chips. Best part is that the actual tortillas are home made in house by an old traditional Mexican method. I have not ever tasted such delicious and nourishing food in one. As a vegetarian, the quinoa and corn tacos, guacamole and taco chips are a dream come true. This is what real food is supposed to taste and feel like. Nothing processed here, fresh, real and nourishing and I immediately felt this after a meal here. Big difference between processed foods and real food. Everything about this place is real and authentic. Great site for people watching and relaxing atmosphere.

    (5)
  • Lance H.

This place is beyond legit. The chips, salsa, and guacamole combo is dynamite. We knocked down the Al Pastor, Pollo taco, and Rajas. All the tacos ran $3.50. It's outside near the street with some sick jams playing. A tecate runs $5. This place is a must.

    (5)
  • Heberto V.

Great place for tacos in Miami Beach. My expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised when I visited This place. We tried the chips and guacamole and pastor, pork, chicken and barbacoa tacos. They were great. They tasted like the real deal. This is a place that we would definitely go back to. Parking is hard and the place has no tables; however, the tacos are definitely worth it!!

  • Naturell B.

What can I say.... I was here last week for vacation. Coming from Los Angeles I'm used to my taco man in the corner on his cart... So I was looking for something similar.. Let me just say I will be having taquiza for breakfast lunch and din when In Miami ! Lol I got pollo taco, lengua and barrbacoa.. Amazing! My fav was the lengua it was so juicy and flavorful . The barrbacoa was good also but a little 2 salty for me. The pollo was good. And the totopos amazing! Must try. Overall I love the tacos the environment reminded me of home :) will come back everyday of I could lol

  • Iman D.

A little pricey for the portion, though you definetly get what you pay for. Gorgeous fresh ingredients and the tomatillo is to die for. For my first time here, I went with the vegetarian option- a unique Rajas taco. My buddy went with the Lengua, which was so soft it melts in your mouth. I definetly push this spot on anyone enjoyin the Miami strip and searchin for a quick, but enjoyable place to munch. Sweet and simpll food, people, music, and atmosphere

  • Leah H.

Just go here. You won't be sorry. Walk up to the little bar (it's a strange little area kind of underneath a hotel/almost out on the street with communal benches and little chairs) and place your order. Your name will be called and you'll get a metal tray with your tacos. Imagine the most tender carnitas or chicken (pollo) or beef (barbacoa) so full of flavor nestled on the perfect little round blue soft taco. Add some toppings (onion, radish, cilantro, hot sauce) and then lovingly roll up your meat in it's little blue taco blanket and enjoy every bite. SO GOOD. I can't imagine visiting Miami and not making at least one stop here. Beer and soda available.

If you're looking for tacos put together with attention to detail without loosing authenticity then these are your kind of tacos. Creative and so satisfying that leave you always wanting to try every single menu item cause this Chef can't do wrong by me. Some of the must haves are Al Pastor, Huitlacoche and Rajas but don't forget to accompany them with Totopos and Guacamole. Wash that delicious grub down with tasty Horchata made with Panther Coffee or my favorite Mexican brew Victoria. To end your taco experience on a sweet note don't forget to get yourself a Choco Taco.

  • Nicho H.

I loved this little taco shop from the start, it has such great unique menu options. For SoBe its an affordable snack on the go. If youd also like, the open air dining area is perfect to people watch and catch a breeze. Service was quick and I loved the condiments bar set up at the counter. Everything tasted fresh and the lengua was so tender. Duh Ill be back.

I went here while staying in Miami, FL for lunch. Small out door eatery. I was able to look right in the kitchen to see my food food being made. It was hot so i wished they had an inside seating option but ended up getting mine to go and eating it in my hotel lobby. Blue corn tortilla made fresh for each taco. The food held up to my 5 minute walk back to the hotel. I had barbacoa and carnits taco. The meat seemed a little salty to me but I could be sensitive to that. Also got chips and guacamole. Guacamole was really good and chips were thicker than my taste. Overall a good lunch but nothing spectacular.

  • Chris P.

I am a Mexican g ood jumkie from San Diego, Arizona and Denver and this place is off the charts!! Awesome, real mexican flavors. The blue chips and Guac are so freaking good and I've never had anything like these chips. The fresh salsas are all fantastic. The AL Pastor and Rajat tacos will make your mouth water they're so good. Cool spot on the street with funky music. A total 10 all the way.

Great spot for a quick bite to eat and drink! We were so inspired that we took the chance on the grasshopper tacos! It was a riot. And we actually enjoyed them along with a ton of their other delicious tacos.

  • Caro D.

#1 on my list of the comprehensive Miami-Dade Taco Standings. Why? BECAUSE BARBACOA THAT'S WHY. Just go taste it, for like a second. The night I went they were depressingly out of blue corn tortillas which would have been a total wash, but I got adventurous and ordered the lengua. It was good, would recommend - but the true standout was the cinnamon coffee-laced magic that went into that barbacoa. After seeing my friends eyes shoot WIDE open in pure unadulterated wonder, I had to get my own - and it did not disappoint.

  • Flo K.

I stumbled upon Taquiza as I was walking back to my hotel on Collins Ave and was so happy I found this gem! It only consists of a take out window and some outdoor seating but it was very clean and comfortable. The blue corn tortilla is delicious and their meats are braised to perfection; so flavourful and topped with a lot of cilantro. They are located right under a hostel so it's a fun place to hang at night. For this price, you won't find anything this delicious on SoBe! I'm an extreme taco enthusiast and have to say that this was one of my most memorable meals in SoBe. I ordered the Carnitas and the Al Pastor, both delicious!

  • Katie K.

Totally unique!! Little yummy street tacos made with love. The chips and quac is fabulous:) Great music and relaxed setting. A MUST TRY!!!

    (5)
  • Mariam K.

The star ratings say it all. I've never had chips and salsa like the ones they serve here ever in my life. Menu options are limited but from the tacos to the elotes everything is excellent and organic. I would recommend that they add a sea food option to their menu. If you are in Miami you have to try this place.

    (5)
  • Fredy Y.

Did not want to have lunch at the overpriced resort restaurant, so decided to try Taquiza just within walking distance. So glad I did! If you normally skip things that can taste you back, don't skip the lengua tacos, braised tender beef tongue. The charred corn covered in cilantro-jalapeno crema was like a fair ride in your mouth, and the creamy guacamole with the blue masa chips fried to order was a nice side. Mexican street tacos with Miami mojo are not to be missed.

  • Walter C.

This place is awesome. I highly recommend the totopos and the elote (and I do not even like corn). Don't drink the wine, but the resin ipa on draft was very good. I highly recommend this place

    (5)
  • Rick R.

Great fresh hand made taco's and at a good price. Everything was high on flavor and excellent. Good for both locals and tourist. My only negative comment would be the toropos don't have the crunch of typical chips. I appreciate the freshness of them but some chips were better cooked than others. Could be improved. Guac is came with was delicious.

    (5)
  • Maziel R.

This place is amazing! Super fresh and cheap but doesn't lack flavor. I had pork, chicken and barbacoa. I also the handmade chips with their guacamole. The chips or "totopos" are a must! They are blue corn tortillas are fried to order, they have a hint of salt and Big Crunch. This is a must!

  • Maria M.

This is a super casual spot to grab some seriously yummy tacos. Outdoor seating only! And limited seating at that, so don't expect your own table and super comfy seating. You order at a bar from a short menu, find a seat on the bench (funky pillows provided for comfort), and wait for the kitchen to call your number. You MUST try their chips and guacamole! The chips are made on the spot from tortillas - friends and lightly salted - so they come out piping hot, a wee bit greasy, and totally amazing. One order of chips comes with two cups of guac, so it is the perfect portion to share (though I wish I had an order all to myself since the chips were so awesome). The tacos are traditionally sized, aka tiny. I ordered three - lengua (tongue), al pastor, and barbacoa - which were all great! I liked the selection of toppings and hot sauces I could add on myself. Was a little annoyed they were out of sangria and the wait time for a simple order was ~15 minutes. Would be nice if they gave an approximate wait time so I don't get hangry :) tl;dr - casual spot with a funky/beachy vibe that serves quality food for a good price.

  • Ladan M.

Totopas, quinoa salad, barbacoa and al pastor tacos - excellent. The totopas are made fresh to order with the blue masa dough being hand pressed in an old fashioned tortilla maker into a large tortilla, then hand torn into small pieces that are then fried. Heaven! Quinoa is fluffy, and crunchy with the jicama pieces and tangy with nopales and fresh lime. Loved that they had Tajin spice bottle. I put on extra with radishes over my quinoa - love that stuff. With a hibiscus Agua Fresca, Taquiza is the real deal. I'll be back for the elote, and more totopas, and tacos, and quinoa.

I have dying to have a taste of home here, have mostly been extremely disappointed for what passes as Mexican food here. Well, today I found a little piece of heaven. This place is incredible. The tacos al pastor and tacos de lengua are "pa chuparse los dedos." They are good. The rating is based on taste only. The place is small and unassuming. If you walk too fast, you might miss it. The service is incredible, Jessica was outstanding. Sitting arrangement is comprised of a standing only table and a few benches on the sides. It is an open space and a block to the beach by 16th street. Definitely worth a walk out your way from Lincoln Road. Come, order and enjoy. Try a Mexican coke while you are at it. They are great.

Just got to Miami and of course we are starving! Thankfully this place was near our hotel and I couldn't have been more content. Between the staff, service, and food I seriously can not complain. They play AWESOME music between 80s, hip hop, and so much more. I love great service and great food so I will be returning as long as I'm here in Miami!

    (5)
  • Jorge S.

Im mexican so I know about tacos, this place is by far one of the best i visited here in Miami, I ordered the barbacoa, lengua, carnitas and huitlacoche tacos with guacamole on the side and enjoyed every bite. The only but to this place is that for tacos it's a bit expensive. Nonetheless what you pay is what you get, excellent food!

    (5)
  • Zaina J.

The totopos with guacamole and Barbacoa are out of this world. We ordered in while we were staying at a hotel nearby and it was quick and really hit the spot.

    (5)
  • Brandon W.

Wow! The place itself is pretty cool, tucked away under a hotel off 15th and Collins. They were bumping some awesome hip-hop, little underground/old school stuff. The food was bangin! Tacos were amazing, all of them. And the toptoas, which I've never had before, with some guac, was really really good. Must try!

  • Intrepid S.

This place opened up and was amazing, I recently went back and was very disappointed. The food took twice as long to come and wasn't nearly as good. It's unfortunate because I really liked it when it first opened.

  • Joe H.

Just wanted a no-frills meal and a good beer on south beach. I wasn't disappointed with the tacos al pastor and totopus. Delicious. I do wish the tacos were a bit bigger, but the flavor made up for it. This place is a little dive off the sidewalk, so a bit hard to find. And no actual tables, which was odd.

    (3)
  • Alma R.

Tacos and the salsas are delicious. The location is very convenient.I had the al pastor, carnitas and barbacoa tacos. I loved that the AL pastor had pineapple in it. They were all very yummy. I wish the tacos were a bit bigger though. Needless to say, I'll be coming back.

  • Carina P.

I found Taquiza on yelp after leaving the SLS hotel pool in South Beach. This place was perfect for getting a quick noshe with a friend. The tacos are small and you put on your own toppings. The guacamole portions are small as well, especially for two people. My favorite part of my meal here were the homemade chips, served warm and salted to perfection. I would definitely come again. But order more than two tacos if you are feeling hungry!

    (4)
  • Kara N.

Fantastic quality and taste! We had the pollo and carnita tacos. They are made on a blue corn tortilla. They are small, about 4 inches in diameter, but definitely worth the 3.50. I had two and I could have had a third. My boyfriend, however, probably could have eaten 5, which would have made the meal quite expensive. For the quality and flavors, this is a must visit taco stand! They also have a selection of pop and beer. The service was fantastic and the food came out very hot and very fast.

    (5)
  • Ewa K.

Absolutely adored Taquiza. Service was excellent and quick. Food was delicious, especially the pork options. Cool vibe and good location. Can't wait to head back here. The blue corn chips with guac were also A+!

  • Laura M.

My friend and I had an incredible lunch here yesterday. You walk up to this restaurant from the side walk, and it's all outdoor seating. The chips, salsa, and guacamole were superb. The chips were made from corn from Mexico. They were thick with a crunchy exterior and soft interior. The guacamole was freshly made, and the salsa was delicious. We also had a carnitas taco and a pollo taco, both of which were fantastic. The quinoa and elote were also yummy. They had a nice selection of beer, and we went with the Miami Pale Ale draft, which was great. The staff was very friendly. Overall, it was about $15 per person, which is pretty good the quantity and quality of food.

  • Pam M.

Staying at the Loews Hotel. After paying $24 for a mediocre salad, I knew there had to be better options. Taquiza was awesome. Loved it's funky atmosphere with great music, palm trees and bamboo. Very cool (in both senses of the word) spot regardless of just being outside. We had an assortment of tacos ($3.50 each) - carnitas, pollo, barbacoa, carne asada and loved all of them. As others have said, they have a little topping bar with fresh cilantro, salsa verde, limes and radishes. Perfection. Nice assortment of beets and some interesting sides. Loved the guac and homemade chips. We will be back before we depart!

  • Farheen Q.

Food was amazing! So fresh and yummy. It is definitely a little pricey, but worth it. Try their chips as they are not typical chips you will have and are also amazing. Too bad they don't have more locations.

  • Janina K.

This is a super casual walk up spot on Collins. $3 per taco and I love the al pastor--the grilled pineapple with the chicken is a great combo. The poblano and onion taco was okay. I had the guacamole and chips as well. The guacamole is great, and the chips are softer than your average tortilla chip, but nonetheless still delicious. My only comment is that this was my first time going and when you picked up your order the lady at the counter never mentioned there was a toppings bar. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the toppings bar because people tend to stand at the counter like it's a bar and block it. Therefore, it's pretty important they point that toppings are available to the uninitiated. The tacos would have been better with lime, cilantro, etc. Also, the guacamole came out way later than the taco order. Kinda weird, but whatever... I was hungry and it all tasted good on the cheap which is rare for South Beach.

We were looking for a laid back place for dinner and couldn't have asked for a better spot. The Ecote and totopos were amazing. The staff was beyond friendly and threw in a bunch of freebies. We definitely plan on going back.

    (5)
  • Nathan D.

Ordered the Totopos and a Barbacoa taco... Both were hands down up there as the best taco and chips I've ever had! Laid back setting with an outdoor walk up counter. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Heard all the positive reviews and have confirmed that they are well worth it!

  • Mia T.

Another pick due to Yelp-reviews, and YES, scored again. Guac and tortilla chips (never ever had such great chips in my life), two tacos (chicken and pork) and quinoa bowl. The quinoa was so delicious and healthy, all great fresh ingredients, great value for money.

You have to really look for this place or you'll miss it! It's kinda a step down from the main sidewalk. Do not pass it up! Fabulous!!! Will definitely be going back before we leave! We had the pollo tacos and the quinoa! Can't say enough!! Great friendly owner/staff and love that gloves are worn to prep food!

Must try the beef Lengua taco! The meat is awesome! The staff and owner was very fun as well! I will DEFINITELY be returning to get some more tacos! Great job!

Hidden little gem and worth the visit. Strolled by - it immediately reminded me of Rockaway Tacos (the tacos are not as good as theirs - sorry guys!) but worth the visit. Cute outdoor setting, walk up order and wait for your food. They do have booze, we brought Wet Willies, of course hadda get our fix in 2 days. I had ... 1. chip & guacs - not your average chips and the guac is bangin 2. al pastor - holy flavor 3. pollo - deff add guac and their hawt sauce adds more flavor 4. corn & truffle - truffle ... nuff said in my book Good quick bite, cheap too - tiny portions though so if you have an appetite this might be a good spot for an appetizer and then head up to Lincoln for mas comida. enjoy!

Had a small craving to eat something small, but delicious and 'al pastor'/ 'pollo' taco was DEFINITELY delicious, I can't complain. I tried the totopos, didn't personally thiK it was all that, but the guac was AMAZING!

Authentic Mexican food they hand make everything. You can add your own fresh toppings. A great find for the beach!

Good service the people taking my order were super friendly and welcoming. The tortillas are made fresh which makes all the difference. The tortillas are blue because they are made from landrace a blue corn found in Michoacán, Mexico. The tortilla are very light and soft. BEWARE of the red sauce, very spicy but if your like me who loves spicy you will surely enjoy. I was tricked into eating the lengua tortilla, which is cow tongue by my boyfriend who is always trying to get me to try new things. I didn't know what I was eating at first and it turned out to be quite good, taste like beef but has a much softer texture. I probably wouldn't have tried it if I knew what it was but I'm glad I did there's a first time for everything! I also had the pork and chicken which is also really good as well. Best part they deliver!!!!

  • Andrea A.

In my opinion best in town. Clearly they make they own tortillas and from real corn...not a pre made flour mixed with water. Their chips and guacamole is unbelievable. Everything is blue corn from Mexico. The location is ok...I found the sitting a bit "limited". They are in a very tourisy location, not the greatest in my book. As far as Mexican tacos this place offers great food. Everything else could be better.

Stopped by 10 minutes before closing and enjoyed some very delicious tacos. I tried al pastor and carnitas; both were very tasty but the pineapple in the al pastor really brought out the flavors. The tacos come in small black tortillas.

One of the best tacos I ever ate! Definitely get the Lengua and Al pastor! Rajas is very good too! Barbacoa is OK.

The tacos here are amazing! I was in South Beach on vacation and we went here for a quick bite. It's a little counter hidden off of Collins Ave, but is so delicious. The chicken tacos are super tender. Seriously some of the best tacos I have ever had. I would go back to South Beach just to come here, which is saying a lot because I live in Seattle!

    (5)
  • Jaime L.

Casual taqueria in South Beach. Al fresco seating is precarious and I do not recommend it during the day or on rainy days. Pricey tacos, at $3.50 each. Flavor is great, blue corn tortillas are very tasty, and the fried to order blue corn totopos and salsa are great. Will occasionally repeat.

    (3)
  • Wilcox W.

holy cow....like, woah. If you are going to eat anything on South Beach, make it this. It is hands down the most insane taco place I've ever been to. They MAKE your chips when you order, they MAKE your tortillas for your tacos, they have KILLER guac, KILLER salsa; this place is pure taco bliss

    (5)
  • Karla G.

Terrible. Totopos are way too soggy and oily!!! I told them about it, they tried to explain to me that that's the consistency, really!? Not recommended at all. The service was just as terrible as the food. $3.50 for each tiny taco is way too pricy

  • Alexander L.

Cool spot! Very good tacos, I tried all of them and the corn.. The food was all very good. Nice selection of beer. Might be the best chips and guacamole I've ever had. The staff was nice too - visit!

Fantastic. Great service. My husband loved the oxtail taco. Maybe a little on the expensive side but worth it.

We ate here yesterday and are waiting the 3.5 hours until they open. The hand torn chips are amazing!

  • Alexa D.

Had the tacos, chips, and elote. All are fantastic and the best tacos in sobe. My only complaint is that I don't want to be listening to uncensored missy Elliott while I'm eating at full volume.

    (4)
  • Scott E.

This little place was awesome - totally authentic tacos with fresh made grilled tortillas and fresh fried tortilla chips (which were warm and soft - not crispy) and salsa. I had a taco with cow tongue, which I've never had, and it was awesome and exceeded expections. It's set down off the sidewalk on Collins ave and easy to miss but it's definitely worth it. Even the seating was cool - with one big wrap around bench with moveable wood blocks as tables.

Hands down the best tacos in Miami. The spot is amazing and they have a friendly staff. Awesome place for beers and tacos.

Went to taquiza for the second time at around 1:30 p,m today. First off let me just say how amazing the carnitas and the homemade blue corn masa was and the hibiscus tea was divine. Best I've had considering I'm a Cali native. The only reason why this is not five stars is because of the fact the young cashier with glasses that was there was rather rude and apathetic. The first time I visited there was a water pitcher on the counter that they made accessible to the customers and this time I just simply asked for a cup of water and he made a snarky remark and he made it seem like it was rocket science. At that point didn't really want the water and continued to drink my tea.My friends and myself felt like he needs more work in the customer service environment to provide a better guest experience.

The care and attention that is put into the handmade tortillas is ridiculous. All the food is on point. My personal favorite fillings are the lengua, pastor, and huitlacoche.

Best hidden gem on the beach by far! The home made tortillas are insane, I could have these and guac every day

Well I stumbled on this hidden spot cruising around south beach. Very tasty tacos but very small. This is my second visit in 2 days, so that says something! Give em a try!!

  • Ezequiel P.

Great hole in the wall place! Loved seeing what they were able to do from a design perspective: they completely transformed a space into a relaxed hipster space. Nice pillows and wood accents. Great prices, especially for miami beach. I had the quinoa side, which was refreshing with avocado and lime. I also had the carne seca, which was ok, but did not wow me. I liked the chili rub, but the meat was too tough for me. Overall this is a great find for a casual night at great prices! I am excited to try their tacos and other items.

  • Rick J.

This is a great place for a quick casual bite with a nice beer selection. The Al Pastor pork tacos are by far my favorite tacos of all time. The Elota (Mexican grilled street corn) is also a great option. We visited twice during a four day trip and will definitely visit next time we are back!

A group of friends and I came here after a 4th of July party. We heard rave reviews about it so we wanted to check it out. It's a cool little spot with outdoor seating in a little plaza. The place was semi crowded (about 3 or 4 different groups of people) when we arrived but they left about 5 minutes after we got there. The guys (the owners?) were very friendly. We placed our order. They were out of a couple of the items so they offered us free chips to make up for it! The chips were fresh (we saw them dropping the tortillas) and had a really good taste to them, although they were a bit over salted. Although they were salty, I couldn't stop eating them! We got our tacos and they didn't disappoint! I got barbacoa and my hubby got chorizo (I think). They were out of the pollo. My barbacoa was great! A bit salty as well, but really good! And my husband loved his chorizo also. The atmosphere of this place is cool and so are the workers. Prices were decent too since the tacos are loaded with meat. It's a must visit if you're looking for a great taco spot!

great food, cute atmosphere. i highly recommend the barbacoa taco if you prefer a little kick! the only thing i didn't like about this place was the lack of seating. i sort of felt like a barbadian eating at this establishment.

Amazing! Cool place, great vibe, awesome food. I had the carnitas tacos. You can tell they really care about the quality of the ingredients and the food they make from it. Cool place to sit and eat or drink in their courtyard.

  • Karissa O.

Tried this spot after a day at the beach and reading the rave reviews... It was ok. I love tacos, and ended up being disappointed after seeing all the posts. They are good, but not the best... Better tacos at bodega, tequiztlan, and on calle Ocho. Nice location for a quick bite, I will try it again.

  • Jacqueline L.

Best taco place in Miami. Homemade tortillas made out of blue corn (so unique and tasty), flavorful vegetarian fare, affordable, awesome atmosphere, great beer selection. Great place to grab a quick bite after the beach. Definitely not a tourist trap like most of the places in the area.

  • Mike S.

Great that they make their own corn tortillas here but the service was really slow. Tacos were good but very small.

The food is amazing!!!!!!! Very different from your typical tacos, chips and salsa! They owner is the chef and he puts so much effort into the food.....it's nothing short of delicious! I was visiting Miami for my birthday and came here twice.....its THAT GOOD!

Ok, I saw the pics of their tortillas and ran over immediately to try this place. I'm taco obsessed. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I was raised by a Mexican stepdad and know what tacos are meant to be. The tacos were beautiful the location itself was adorable. Now as for the tacos themselves, I didn't like them much. Too much salt, I didn't taste anything but the salt! Maybe I was just unlucky that day so I won't 86 this place just yet. Problem is, now that I've tried bodega (which by no means do I believe to be authentic Mexican, they are definitely California style) it's going to be hard to beat. I'll go back sometime next week and edit this review. Now, why the 3 stars? Well because the tacos are beautiful looking and because they make their own tortillas from scratch. That deserves recognition in my book. Taquiza we will meet again. Please take down the salt levels and I will be a regular, promise!

Great food just as the other reviews said! Fresh ingredients, reasonable, and delicious! I wish we had found this place at the beginning of our trip instead of the last day!

Was walking back to the hotel late and found this gem located behind some palm trees. Drove by earlier and couldn't believe we missed this place!!! Ordered tacos - veggie and chicken, an elote and a grapefruit jarritos and water. Food was tasty and not typical - more a fusion blend of non-traditional ingredients, very fresh and inventive. Portions are small and prices a bit high, but expected considering the locale and clientle. Service was a little slow even with no one there and I was initially told that they ran out of what I wanted and the cashier went to go back to check and never really came back with an answer as someone else came up to finish my order. Just weird from a service perspective... I would recommend this place to anyone in the area and would go back again without question because the food was GOOD and FLAVORFUL.

  • Michele C.

Tried the tacos, elote, and totopos with guacamole. All were nothing short of amazing. The al pastor, barbacoa, and lengua meats were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. All the taco toppings were fresh and tasty, helping to add that little extra kick. The blue corn tortillas added a subtle nutty flavor and its texture held together the taco perfectly for that nice, flavorful bite! Elote was creamy and delicious. The totopos were unlike anything I've had before. They came out piping hot with a little bit of sprinkled salt and that al dente-kinda chew! When dipped into their fresh, chunky, limey guac, it was absolute heaven! Washed everything down with an ice cold beer. Cool outdoor hangout area and I appreciated their music too.

  • Laurie K.

What a yummy little place! The carnitas tacos were very flavorful with nice seasoning. The chips and guac were great. Love the blue corn tortillas, super fresh, obviously hand made. The service is a tad disorganized, but hopefully they'll get in a groove once they've been open for awhile. The food is great and very reasonably priced. We found it very convenient to our stay at the Loews Miami Beach next door.

  • Michael O.

Wow, amazing! So fresh, amazing flavors infused right into the taco meat options. Such a cool find (thanks yelp!). Our favorite taco was Barbacoa, but they are all delicious. Do not forget to dress your taco with fresh diced onion, cilantro, salsa, lime (and some other stuff I didn't use) at the counter. Highlight of our trip to South Beach! The only place we ate at twice :)

  • Malcolm W.

My wife and I stumble upon Taquiza which seems like a small whole in the wall, but the tacos are great. I love the Al Pastor Tacos & Blue corn tortilla with Guacamole. We also had the Pollo tacos, but they were plain in comparison. While waiting on our food we started talking with a guy who turned out being the chef taking a break. He gave us a few other restaurants depending on our taste. Cool place!

  • Alaina S.

Holy wow. Can't even describe the fresh house made blue masa chips but will try- chewy and salty with just the right amount of crisp. Tacos were divine. Nice selection of local and regional beers.

Awesome! Just plain awesome. My whole family was in for a wedding and wanted a quick place to eat before a few people had to head out of town. We had passed this place walking by numerous times over the long weekend and drooled repeatedly so it was an easy decision. It's entirely outdoors with fans making a great cool breeze and close to the beach. Because there were so many of us, I got to have a bite of just about every kind of taco, and didn't think there was a loser amongst the bunch. The Rajas was hands down one of the best things I've ever tasted and I'll likely have dreams about that blue corn and roasted poblano deliciousness until my eventual return to Miami. We also shared totopos and guacamole which were indeed, as I think nearly every other review mentioned, pretty much worth the trip in themselves. Cheap. Fast. Friendly. Insanely good. If you bypass this place, something is wrong with you!

  • Diva J.

We absolutely love this place! We were only in Miami for three days, but we had to visit twice. They are so quick, and the tacos are so fresh and delicious! The first time I tried the chicken tacos and the beef tacos. Both were excellent. We also got the topotes with salsa and the roasted corn to start with. We loved that. You can add onions, cilantro, hot sauce, lime and salt to your tacos. The second time I went, I tried the corn and bean taco and the pub lotto pepper one. They were both excellent. I actually like those better than the meat ones. we got sangria and a hibiscus Jarritos soda to drink and they were a nice combination with the tacos. Can't wait to have them again!

  • Vio C.

The spot - the idea is hole in the wall taco counter. In reality its super cute, more modern version tucked behind palm trees. Menu - simple and short - I thought at first. After finishing my food, i am more than stuffed and content. Need to go back for more. I had the blue masa cips with guacamole. Omg they were so delicious. Crispy and seasoned on the outside, chewy on the inside. Yuuuummm. Tacos - el pastor was good, barbacoa was great, poblano was great too. Also was adveturous enough to order an off the menu grass hopper.

Taquiza is great! The barbacoa tacos, al pastor, guacamole and totopos were delicious. If you're looking for great, decently priced food this is the place to go.

On our way out of Miami, we were looking for something quick and cheap to eat before we had to leave for the airport & found this place on Yelp! This place is DELICIOUS! Each taco is $3.50. The ingredients listed below each taco is how they marinate the meat. My husband and I ordered one taco each & a bowl of the totopos (toasted blue corn chips) with guac! The guac was so good I ate the rest of it with a fork! (I love a GOOD guacamole!) My only down is that there are a limited amount of toppings: some salsas, cilantro, radishes, onions & lime. I'm not a fan of most of that, so I topped my chicken taco off with cilantro, lime juice & some guac & that seemed to do the trick. And a heads up, (since we couldn't locate it at first): the place is tucked down & the patio is covered with palm trees (perfect to provide shade because that's your eating area) next to Parisan & across the street from Bancroft. But either way, I would highly recommend if you're looking for something quick to eat!

taquiza is solid. cant go wrong with the tacos here and im glad they serve tacos de lengua. it seems to me like taquiza is closer to "street" food fare than the other taco restaurants that have opened up in miami recently. this is in my opinion really good! tacos de chapulines. get them if you feel adventurous. its actually delicious and technically vegetarian lol the elote is very good too. the toppings. service is ok here, wish they played better music.

Probably some of the best tacos I've ever had. It's not authentic but then again that's what makes it great. Every time I come to south beach I make it a point to stop here & you should too! My favorites are the Barbacoa & the Al Pastor tacos. What makes it special for me is that they let you dress up the tacos on your own. Meaning as much cilantro, onion, lime, hot sauce & radishes as you please. Also make sure to order the Elote. This is always the highlight of my miami trips. Thanks guys!!

This is a great, outdoor taco place. It's an excellent place. No indoor seating, though.

  • Julia K.

I loved it. Everything we got was amazing, I think the real winners were the Elote (corn on the cob) and then barbacoa tacos. I could not stop eating. I insisted we go back one time after already eating dinner. It's so addicting. It's location is really cute and the bathrooms were exceptionally clean, which made the whole thing better. You will definitely have to wash your hands after eating!

Right now, and you can check the date of this review, Taquiza is my absolute favorite for tacos in Miami. These tacos depart from their mundane origins as street food and move to a more delicate and flavorful status as gourmet-like bites. These tacos are so full of flavor that you most likely will go back to the counter and place another order just to satisfy your incessant craving for more and more Taquiza. The menu here is straightforward. It's only purple corn tacos and meats. The meats are listed on the board, and I love the fact that there are two vegetarian offerings: rajas and huitlacoche. My favorite here, besides the vegetarian stuff, is the barbacoa. It is so delicious, it's hard to stop ordering. The barbacoa is juicy and full of flavor, truly a great skilled person preparing this meat. I also like how unassuming this whole situation is. You order your tacos, and once you receive them, you dress them up with onions, radish slices, cilantro, red or green sauce (I put both), lime juice, and hot spicy sauce (habanero), because in my opinion, eating tacos without hot spicy sauce is like having a near death experience and not seeing the light. The sides are pretty good also, the guacamole and the salsa are good, I know people that go crazy for the charred corn (elote), and the totopos are good too. This shop is not an elaborate enterprise, it's a very simple stop, the way great things are. Before I go, let me point out that Taquiza serves sangria, and that they have unsweetened Agua de Jamaica (normally sweetened) available. But what I really want you to notice, is that they serve Sixpoint Resin IPA, a craft IPA that stands tall at 9.10% ABV. It happens to be my favorite IPA. Finally, a quick rant. Please stop ordering chicken tacos. Yes, we all grew up eating chicken, yes, we all ate chicken breasts thanks to anti-fatty nutritionists and cholesterol, but really, chicken tastes like nothing and it's dry. What I am trying to say, is that the chicken tacos suck. Eat other meats or eat vegetarian... and avoid chicken. Peace.

WOWW!! The tacos, elotes, and guacamole were amazing - especially the homemade chips. The location is really nice as it's very close to the beach and it's entirely outside. Must try!

I first heard about Tequiza after an event on the beach a couple of weeks ago. That time, I was told that they had run out of dough and I'd have to wait about an hour to eat. I went back tonight for takeout dinner, and I think they need a little more time to marinate. My issues started when I was overcharged. I ordered a corn on the cob, chips with salsa and 3 chicken tacos (you know, get a sample of different items). I know they're pricier than regular taco places but I didn't expect my order would be $25 expensive. The cashier shows me the cash register and I had been charged for 3 extra orders of chips and salsa. They did take those out when I pointed out the mistake. I was also offered if I wanted a drink, and just took water. I'm glad I waited for the corn on the cob (elotes), as that was the highlight of my meal. Covered with crema and what tasted like a jalapeno spread, with nice looking roast marks, I enjoyed it. The 3 chicken tacos, well not so much. Served in blue corn tortillas and seasoned in Tecate beer, they seemed smaller than some other gourmet taco spots. Also, it was just meat on the tacos, without lettuce and the limes I asked for. The meat could have used a kick of seasoning as well, some fire and spice. The pico de gallo was pretty good as well, but the chips were a touch on the greasy side. Oh, and as mentioned earlier with the billing issues, they nickel and dime on sauces. Sorry guys, not quite impressed just yet!

  • Tal T.

Taquiza is a casual, fun taco spot in sobe. I would dare even call it a snack bar - full of light treats and nibbles to whet your appetite. The homemade "chips" are really something else. They're thick and mostly somewhat chewy with the random crispy bit here and there. The texture is decidedly different - but in a good way - just don't expect your usual american tortilla chip. I am obsessed with the salsa Verde. I could drink that shiz with a tequila chaser. Or wait, is it the other way around? Sorry for bringing up tequila; they don't have any at tequiza. But the beer selection is decent and sangria ain't bad either. Pepper tacos were underwhelming but the huitlacoche hit the spot with its complex flavor pairings. Bro loved his meat tacos. Bottom line: I will be back to have a snack here and there at this super chic urban taco stand with a twist.

In the land of the $20 salad-with-no-meat, Taquiza is a welcome respite for tourists and, I imagine, locals in South Beach. Awesome tacos, great beer, and these toptoas things that are like pillowy improvements on tortilla chips that you would not have dared imagine.

  • Sarah J.

This place is a MUST GO if you are in the area. Food is cheap, authentic and delicious! Tacos come with just meat and you add toppings yourself. I highly recommend the elotes, it's the best I've ever had!! Staff is also very friendly and music is good! I will be back before the end of my trip definitely.

  • Joseph Z.

This place...I have almost no words. It was so unbelievable flavorful, wholesome a delicious. You MUSH go here if you love taco and are in the area. I do which they upped their hot sauce game - but as big as a fan as I am of some hot sauce, this may be the one taco joint that really doesn't need any. We tried all the taco and you can't go wrong, but gun to my head and I'm choosing the barbacoa. AND GET THE GUAC!

  • Tamara S.

tacos here were ok we looked up online and wanted to try it out not a big fan of the tortillas but the chicken was tasty and had alot of flavor to it. The eating space here is not great very little and they have 3-4 tables with little wooden small stools and cement seating area. Definitely just a place to grab and go food was decent price was affordable.

  • Lanha T.

Came here around 11pm on Sunday night. They ran out of a lot of the menu options by then. The tacos are street taco style and kind of small but packed with a lot flavor. Had the barbacoa and an order of elote. The corn was roasted and coated in cojita. The cilantro jalapeño crema was good but a little thick for my liking. I preferred to wipe it off and then dip my corn in it. The salsa that comes with chips and salsa was thick and chunky. Reminded me of pico de gallo and chips were softer than it looked. The guys working there was really nice and completely jamming hip hop while we waited for our order. Would love just to sit out there and hang out on the patio but ordered to go.

  • Sathish P.

Their Guacamole and purple chips are the best. The tacos are small but tasty. I could eat at least 8 tacos. Not a big fan of their Veg tacos, may be because i don't care for veg food. Their meat tacos are really good.

This is a little gem in Collins ave i tried the taco with chicken and was a little skeptical at first because it was a diffrent color.. after i got it i added onions and cilantro wity some lime and that was all it took to get me hooked

  • Carolyn M.

This place is a totally welcome oasis from the overpriced "2-4-1"s and identical $35 entrees you'll encounter further down Collins. Relaxed, casual, and beachy little spot that's perfect for authentic Mexican lunch, dinner, or late night. The elote is delicious and I loved the carne asada. My new favorite spot in Miami Beach.

  • T. H.

Whoa. Yes. We needed tacos and we found Taquiza. I got the pollo and the al pastor, both juicy and delicious. Start with the totopos with guacamole - I've never had anything like that. Hand-torn and fried blue corn masa with salt. YES. Definitely a quick, easy, clean and hip lunch spot. Hints: 1) wash your hands first just to the left of the ordering desk and 2) fill up your water bottles with their lime-pineapple water.

  • Danny C.

The totopos (aka chips) were great and the salsa was amazing. The tacos were like no other, we had the Al pastor, barbacoa, lengua. The place has a great vibe, good chill music. Loud music, but you can still have a conversation. Highly recommended! Must try the tacos!

  • Dee A.

Amazing!!!! The food was fabulous. Totopos are made fresh to order and are seriously out of this world! The customer service was spectacular. The girl was so friendly and knowledgable. She was patient as we couldn't make up our mind. The prices are very reasonable!! The restaurant was clean but small, I imagine it would have been uncomfortable if the place was crowded but luckily we were not there at a peak time. Our only complaint is that we found this gem on the last day of our vacation...
